Define Peace

Define Peace is a promotional video for non-profit organisation Cooperation for Peace and Unity (CPAU), whose important work in peacebuilding and social justice since 1996 has resulted in more than 30,000 students benefitting from its peace education curriculum, as well as its setting up of more than 10,000 local peace councils (shuras/jirgas) across Afghanistan. Meltdown

Using stop-motion frames to give an intentionally coarse, jerky feel, this story demonstrates the “meltdown” of not just the stranger, but the narrator too. This comic-tragedy confronts the self in the encounter of the Other, and raises important questions of empathy and sympathy, or the lack thereof. Read the full story here…
